Thriller books with twists you won't see coming: 'Imagine this...' edition

Reading is immersive. Good stories suck us right in and sometimes fiction can taste a bit too real.

In this article, I've played around with the blurbs from my thriller books, making you the character in my dark books so that you can step into their lives and the plot, experience the horror and twists, and ask yourself, what would you do in their shoes?

So, imagine this...

The Neighbour, By Arti Manani "She ran to escape the past. But can she outrun the present?" - A short story

The Neighbour

You’ve finally escaped from your violent and manipulative partner.

You and your child are safe. You've found yourself a new house, a new neighbourhood, a new beginning.

But then, you start to feel it.

A shadow in your garden. A door left open. A neighbour who’s just a little too friendly.

And the creeping dread rolls in, that maybe you’re not free after all.

What would you do if the danger you thought you left behind was still with you?

'Til Death Do Us Part, By Arti Manani. "When the truth is your enemy, who will you become?' - A novella

'Til Death Do Us Part

You wake up in a hospital bed with no memory.

A man is there, claiming to be your husband, telling you he’s been by your side the entire time.

You feel safe… but something about him, about this, is wrong. He takes you home, yet the details don’t match up. Your surroundings, his stories, they don't feel right.

And then, things take a dark turn.

What would you do if your life was a strangers secret?

If They Knew, By Arti Manani - 'Some Secrets Are Better Kept' - a suspense thriller

If They Knew

You receive anonymous letters. Unmarked gifts.

You feel watched, on edge, but you can’t call the police, because you’re hiding something too.

So you investigate alone. Everyone becomes a suspect. Your friends. Your coworkers. Even your family.

And just when you think you’ve found the truth, you make a discovery - someone knows the secret you’ve been burying for over a decade.

Who is it? And how far will you go to keep it buried?

Seven Sins, By Arti Manani - "What makes a person bad?" - An action thriller

Seven Sins

You wake up in a hospital bed. Broken. Bruised. Lucky to be alive.

Someone wanted you dead, but who?

Your list of enemies is short, deadly. The reasons to want you gone, endless.

To find answers, you’re forced to go back, to the choices that led you here in this very bed.

To re-live every decision that turned you from a good man... into a killer.

Was it survival? Greed? Or were you always this way?

The Colours of Denial, By Arti Manani - "When the only way out is to face the truth" - a psychological thriller

The Colours of Denial

You’ve spent your life running from the truth, hiding behind lies you’ve convinced yourself are real. It’s worked… until now.

Because lately, nothing feels real. You keep seeing a stranger watching you. You’ve seen him before but only in your nightmares, and now he’s stepped into your waking life.

As reality begins to crumble, you’re forced to confront the one thing you’ve spent your whole life avoiding - the truth.

What if the truth isn’t just painful, what if it’s deadly? Will you run forever? Or will you learn to face it?

Thriller books with twists you won't see coming

So there they are. My 'imagine this...' scenarios taken from each of my books.

What would you have done in each of these situations? One thing's for sure, I am most certain that you will never guess what my characters did.

Because the one thing these thrillers have in common, is that they all contain my favourite trope, the unreliable narrator, packed with twists you wont see coming, and endings you'll never have guessed.

I've read two of your books so far and I can confirm I did not guess the endings! 🙈
