I read (or watched, because Washburn’s writing pulls you straight into the scene like you’re standing in the woods with them) The Tickle Monster by David Washburn, and wow… what a tense little rollercoaster.

They say writers pour pieces of themselves into their stories, and with The Neighbour, I poured in more than I realised. In the acknowledgements, I wrote how personal this short story is to me. It wasn’t just another suspense idea. It came from memories, fears, and moments that still sit with me.

I absolutely loved this short thriller. It's difficult to say anything about the plot without giving too much away, but this is yet another clever plot twist story from the 'Fight like final girls' series.
