Award-winning thrillers: A milestone for my indie writing journey

Wow—what a whirlwind this author journey has been so far. I’m beyond excited to announce that two of my suspense thriller novels have been given a shiny gold emblem!

My suspense novels, Seven Sins, and If They Knew have both won Top Pick at the Author Shout Reader Ready Awards 2025.

As an indie author, I’ve always poured my heart into every twist, turn, and character in my novels. To have both books recognised with such an honor is not just humbling, it’s a dream come true. 

This is a new milestone for me and winning these awards feels like validation for all the late nights, endless revisions, and deep dives into writing stories that keep you on the edge of your seat. But most of all, it’s a testament to the amazing readers who have supported me every step of the way. I am truly grateful.

Nominee - Best Thriller

This news comes where, in December 2024, my recent novella, 'Til Death Do Us Part was a nominee for the Best Thriller Book at the Indie Visible Charity Author Awards. Whilst it didn't win in this category, I'm still so happy that it went through.

A Closer Look at the Award-Winning Thrillers 

Let me tell you a little about the two books that earned these gold emblems: 

Seven Sins Seven Sins is the first in the Seven series and blends suspense with blood, gore, crime and action.

With a focus on society, expectations, and men's mental health, it’s been described as "a powerful and important book about the realities of mental illness and how far one wrong decision can take you..."

The novel is told through the mind of a man consumed by his own demons, exploring the blurred lines between right and wrong.

Due to it's content on greed, suicide and murder, it’s a dark suspense novel that challenged me as a writer, and I’m thrilled to see it resonate with readers. 

If They Knew

If you love high-stakes drama and a slow-burn mystery that unfolds layer by layer, If They Knew, is for you.

Writing this novel was a journey into the darker corners of my own mind after my anxiety and paranoia came to surface following the move to remote working during the pandemic. I found myself hyper-aware of online threats—particularly hackers, and the vulnerabilities of technology in general. 

In If They Knew, Ella's secrets come back to haunt her through a modern, technology-driven stalker-twist.

Readers have called it "alarming and addictive," and 'a true page turner."

What’s Next? 

The journey doesn’t stop here. I’m already working on my next thriller, and let me tell you, it’s shaping up to be one of my most intense stories yet. I can’t wait to share more details soon.
