The Neighbour Audiobook Is Here! And It All Started With a Missing Neighbour

The idea for The Neighbour came to me after one of my own neighbours seemingly vanished.

Not long after hearing an argument next door, one half of the couple disappeared. Days went by. No sign of her. No explanation. Nothing.
Naturally, my thriller writer brain went straight to murder.
For far longer than I'd care to admit, I found myself peering out of the window, keeping an eye on the house and wondering whether I'd missed something. Was there a clue? Had something happened? Should I be concerned?
Turns out she'd gone on holiday.
But by then, the idea had already taken root.
It left me wondering just how much we really know about the people around us, and how quickly our minds fill in the blanks when something doesn't feel quite right.
I was already working on a short domestic thriller at the time, but that question eventually became what The Neighbour is today.

The story follows a woman who escapes her abusive husband, takes her daughter, and disappears to a town where nobody knows who she is. It's supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to finally feel safe.
Instead, things begin to feel wrong.
Objects aren't where she left them. Her neighbour seems far too interested in her life. The feeling of being watched becomes impossible to ignore. And when you already have good reasons not to trust people, how do you know whether the danger is real, or whether your past is catching up with you?
What follows is a dark domestic thriller packed with secrets, paranoia, psychological (and some supernatural) suspense, and the creeping sense that something terrible is just around the corner.
The Neighbour audiobook is out now
As well as being available in paperback and eBook formats, The Neighbour is now available in audiobook format.
Florence Browse, the narrator for The Neighbour, has done an incredible job bringing the tension, atmosphere, and uncertainty of the story to life. Hearing scenes that existed only in my head for so long performed aloud has been a surreal experience, and I couldn't be happier with the final result.
The Neighbour audiobook is available now on Audible, Amazon, Apple Books, and will also be available in Amazon's new All You Can Listen (AYCL) catalogue from 1 July.
If you haven't heard of AYCL yet, it's Audible's new subscription catalogue that allows members to listen to thousands of included audiobooks as part of their membership, making it easier than ever to discover new thriller authors and binge your next listen.
So if you're looking for a short domestic thriller audiobook featuring a woman on the run, a suspicious neighbour, family secrets, emotional suspense, and plenty of twists, The Neighbour is ready and waiting.
