Book club questions

I'm always having a mental conversation with myself after reading a good book.

Sometimes, even days after I've completed the book I still find my brain finding a way back to it. I find myself talking about it to those I'm around and through Bookstagram.

If you're like me and ponder over a book for a few hours or even days after you've read it, here are some book club questions you might be interested in asking yourself:

  1. What was your favorite part of the book?

  2. What was your least favorite?

  3. Which characters did you like best? Which did you like least?

  4. Which scene has stuck with you the most?

  5. Did reading the book impact your mood? If yes, how so?

  6. What surprised you most about the book?

  7. Were there any quotes (or passages) that stood out to you? Why?

  8. Are there lingering questions from the book you're still thinking about?

  9. Did you guess the ending? If so, at what point?

  10. What do you think happens to the characters after the book's ending?

  11. What emotions did it evoke, if any?

  12. If the book were made into a movie, who would play each of the lead characters?

  13. How does the way the characters see themselves differ from the way others see them?

  14. Which character would you most like to meet in real life?

  15. And, finally, if you could ask the author anything, what would it be?

It's a wonderful feeling when some of my readers contact me directly to discuss how my books make them feel. I've met some wonderful readers this way and I'd love to meet more. If you would like to discuss any of the above, I welcome you to get in touch.
